What Are Ferrules and Grommets?

Both ferrules and grommets are essential components of any jockey box setup.

A ferrule is a tiny metal piece that is placed on either side of a jockey box coil of the appropriate diameter thus connecting your jockey box coil to the cooler coupling and the shank. Ferrules are secured with a hex nut and a grommet.

A grommet is a tiny connecting piece made of rubber placed between the ferrule and the connections on the back and front of your cooler helping to establish the connection between the cooler coupling and the shank.
