What Is a Tailpiece?
Tailpieces are a type of beer line fittings designed to prevent your hoses and lines from kinking thus ensuring a continuously smooth flow of beer all the way from the keg to the faucet.
Tailpieces can be made of nickel-plated brass or stainless steel - the latter is preferable for homebrew systems.
How to Use Tailpieces
Normally, you would attach a tailpiece to the shank or keg coupler. You insert the barbed end of the tailpiece into a beer tube or hose (thus allowing it to grip the interior wall of the tube) and then secure it with an appropriate-size clamp.
